We are thrilled to host the annual George M. Penree III Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of a truly remarkable man. George served as a Utica firefighter, business owner, and volunteer for many causes, but it was his 16 years of service as president of the North Utica Senior Citizens Community Center's board that made a lasting impact for the center. He lived by the Rotary motto “Service Above Self” and dedicated his life to giving back to his community. George’s hard work and commitment resulted in the beautiful facility we have today. He was also an avid golfer and co-chaired the center’s annual golf tournament for 11 years, making this tournament the perfect tribute to his passion for the sport and for community service. George’s legacy of generosity and dedication lives on in each of you and we are most grateful.
Stonebridge Golf and Country Club features a beautiful 18 hole par 72 course with beautiful panoramic views of the pristine hills of New Hartford, New York.
Founded in 1971, the North Utica Senior Citizens Community Center has a rich history of serving the Mohawk Valley, providing essential programs and services for seniors for over 50 years. In 1998, the center expanded its reach by offering children’s programming and quickly became a state and national pilot for intergenerational programs. In 2004, the center relocated to a brand new facility on Riverside Drive. The new building and land, allowed the center to expand its programs and offer new services, increase child care capacity, and provide the community with a safe place to hold special events throughout the year. In 2013, the center added a fitness center and a full slate of classes designed to keep participants healthy and fit. Your generosity will help the center continue to evolve and grow to meet the changing needs of our community for years to come.
